Introduction

Today's world is full of competition. We can experience competition from every part of life from competition in office to competition for getting water from the crowd of more than 100 people. Competition has been a must thing for achieving success as it is said that 'Social facilitation is the key to success'. To retrieve the joy and happiness left behind, entertainment is the best option. There are more than 100 platforms for entertainment worldwide like Hollywood, Tollywood and many more but the most variance oriented and the most genre-oriented platform in Bollywood. 

History

Bollywood is a platform experienced all over the world but it is originated from Bombay (currently known as Mumbai). Bollywood is a mixture of Bombay and Hollywood. Although the first film for introducing Indian Cinema to the world was in 1897, the first film made in India was in 1913 with the name Raja Harishchandra made by Dadasaheb Phalke. His daring and talent gave him the name of 'Father of Indian Cinema'. It was a silent film because at that time India didn't have a dubbing system. After the success of this film, Bollywood started producing many films. In 1931, The first Indian sound film, Ardeshir Irani directed a film named Alam Ara.  In 1937, Irani also made the first Hindi colour film, Kisan Kanya. In 1957, a remake of Mehboob Khan's film Aurat(1940) was released which was one of the highest-grossing films of that time. Slowly and gradually the Indian Cinema got recognized all over the world because of its success. Not only this, but Bollywood has also enabled Pakistani actors to work with them. Actors like Ali Zafar, Fawad Khan has acted with various superheroes and heroines of Bollywood. Till now over 10 Bollywood movies have been nominated for Oscar as well as reached to the final.

Present

Currently, many Tollywood and Kollywood stars are also collaborating with Bollywood stars and are successfully making a movie grossing over 500 crores. movies like Saaho, Bahubali, Lingaa, and many more films are an example of successful collaboration. Dangal is the top-grossing movie in India by grossing over 2000crores worldwide. Today, Bollywood is one of the most employment grossing industries in India. Bollywood also has its award show which is IIFA. It is conducted every year on a larger scale than last year.

Nepotism

When the star kids are given effortless opportunities to get into a movie because of their parents then it is called nepotism. Although star kids of Bollywood are doing a great job, the reason behind getting the opportunities is nepotism. 

Conclusion

Bollywood has seen many successful movies and has also reached worldwide. People from over the world love Bollywood movies, songs, and characters.
