Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma)

Introduction

Since our childhood, we are used to the fact of taking particular medicine whenever we get ill. We would have the pills but never asked a question about it still in a little corner of our brain some question would always arise that how is a medicine made? or who are the person making it? Well, for people having such questions and to solve such questions B.Pharm must be the desired course after completing class 12th in the field of science from a recognized university. Bachelor of Pharmacy also known as B.Pharm is a course in which we get knowledge of preparing and presenting drugs and medicines for several illnesses and deficiencies. To practice as a pharmacist one has to hold a degree of B.Pharm. B. Pharm is a 4-year course. 


Eligibility

To apply for B.Pharm, there are 3 things to be considered. 


  1. To complete class 12th in the stream of science with the combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths or Biology. 
  2. Students need to secure at least 50% marks in the national or state level Pharmacy Entrance Examination.
  3. Students having the degree of Diploma in Pharmacy can also apply for B.Pharm

Entrance Examination

There is various entrance examination held at the National, State, and Private levels. Some of them are as follows 


  1. National Level - GPAT
  2. State Level - TS EAMCET, AP EAMCET, BCECE, WBJEE, etc. 
  3. Private Level - BVP CET, IPU CET, MHT CET, etc. 


The questions asked in the entrance exams are based on the topics Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, English Proficiency/Logical Reasoning.
