Symptoms and Treatment of Coronavirus

Introduction 

One of the most destructive disasters of humankind is the 2019-nCoV. Wuhan, the seventh-largest city of China, was the first city where this virus was found out in early December. Initially, a cluster of pneumonia cases was filed in China. Still, after researching more on it, the doctors found that it was a kind of previously known Coronavirus which was then named as 2019-nCoV. The main reason for the spillover of such a dire is a seafood market in Wuhan city popularly known as Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market. It is a hub for selling and buying of products like fish, chickens, pheasants, bats, marmots, venomous snakes, spotted deer and many wild animals on a large scale. Coronavirus transmits from animal to human, and it circulates quickly in humans. Initially, only a few cases of this virus were detected but eventually, it spread to the family, friends and healthcare staff as it is a contagious disease. 

 

Symptoms

There are different types of disease spread by Coronavirus which are responsible for causing respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms. Respiratory disease range from the common cold to pneumonia some might be mild while some go at a severe level. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) - CoV first detected in China in 2003 and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) - CoV first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012 are a few examples of severe diseases. Every infirmity has few symptoms through which we get alert about the upcoming ailment. For 2019 n-CoV, symptoms vary between mild and severe. Below are a few symptoms identified until now. 


Mild

Severe

  1. Fever
  2. Frequent and unstoppable cough
  3. Shortness of breath
  1. Pneumonia
  2. Kidney failure
  3. Death


These symptoms are common in a few more diseases also so to check whether you are infected to this disease Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). The genetic fingerprints of the patient are used in this process.


Treatment

Till now, no scientist is successful in discovering the antidote of this deadly virus. However, every country is giving out their best in finding it. But those patients who have already recovered from the illness is a mystery. Few people suggest to drink and eat healthy and natural products and medicines prescribed by doctors while some insist on consuming ayurvedic medication and stay under perfect observance. Although there are no official reports on the medication, you should follow a few standard preventive measures. 


  1. Covering mouth and nose while sneezing or coughing. 
  2. Avoiding close contact with an infected person or animal. 
  3. Always wear a mask while in public. 
  4. Before and after performing any task, always wash hands. 
  5. Cook and consume good and healthy food. 
  6. Stay at your home when feeling uneasy or if it exceeds the limit, then visit a doctor. 


Conclusion

The World Health Organizations (WHO) has announced this outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) making it a world concern which has to be solved immediately. Many healthcare organizations from different countries are working in the development of vaccination. The most important thing during such an epidemic is to stay healthy and help people in need after your need is fulfilled.
