Introduction

Health has become one of the necessities of humans. So for maintaining it, they require to keep it away from the lousy atmosphere, but if precautions didn't help, then curing it can help. Treating it at home can be a bit of unclear and unprofessional practice, so you visit a doctor. But have you ever wondered what these doctors have studied for achieving the permit of practicing medicine locally? Well, if you had, then here is the answer to it. They have a course with the name Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, which in short, is referred to as MBBS. MBBS is a 5.5-year course with 4.5 years of studies and one year of mandatory internship in the respected field. It is an undergraduate course for students aspiring to medicine after class 12th.

Eligibility

An applicant has to fulfil a set of criteria to become eligible for the course of MBBS. These criteria are listed below.

An applicant must have completed class 12 with a combination of subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as mandatory subjects.
The applicant must secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for some entrance examination. However, tests like AIIMS require 60% aggregate marks.

Entrance Examination

The entrance examination is a must for many colleges and institutes. Some institutes conduct entrance on their own while some accept tests conducted at the state or national level. Some of these examinations are given in the following table.

Syllabus

MBBS is a 4.5-year course which is further divided into nine semesters. These nine semesters are based on three phases. These three phases are described below.

MBBS course provides many opportunities to the degree holder. After perceiving MBBS, a person can either practice privately or with an organization. The following are some of the examples of it.

Job Profile	Description

General Physician	General physician diagnosis and medically treat the patient at a primary level.
Healthcare Research and Consultant	Research and Consultancy are required in every field. In the medical field, the person handling this post or perform it personally is called Healthcare Research and Consultant. He/she looks at various health-related topics.
Surgeon	The doctor who performs surgery is known as a Surgeon. A Surgeon specializes in one particular part of the body like heart, brain, and such.
Medical Superintendent	A Medical Superintendent is responsible for monitoring all the functions taking place in a medical organization. He/she is also responsible for implementing all the ideas and decisions informed by the head of the company.
Dietician	Analyzing various factors such as weight and height, a Dietician suggests it's patient a perfect diet plan. Dietician practices either personally or in a medical organization.
