Introduction

They have a course with the name Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, which in short, is referred to as MBBS. MBBS is a 5.5-year course with 4.5 years of studies and one year of mandatory internship in the respected field. It is an undergraduate course for students aspiring to medicine after class 12th. 

 

Eligibility

An applicant has to fulfil a set of criteria to become eligible for the course of MBBS. These criteria are listed below. 

  • An applicant must have completed class 12 with a combination of subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as mandatory subjects. 
  • The applicant must secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for some entrance examination. However, tests like AIIMS require 60% aggregate marks. 

 

 

Entrance Examination

The entrance examination is a must for many colleges and institutes. Some institutes conduct entrance on their own while some accept tests conducted at the state or national level. Some of these examinations are given in the following table.
