Introduction

Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering is a 3-year diploma course in the field of engineering. Generally, after the completion of class 10th, students apply for this course. However, it can also be pursued after completing 10+2 level. This course provides a basic knowledge of topics like Engineering techniques, Engineering Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, etc. Along with these topics, students are also given a comprehensive understanding of Computer Science, Programming, Data structures, Algorithms, Computer networks, etc. Students who have an interest in computers and would like to have a career in it generally opt for this course. A student must be capable of spending anywhere between ₹40,000 - ₹2,00,000 depending upon the institute you choose for pursuing this course. After achieving the degree, a degree holder is eligible to either study further or get a job. A degree holder can get a job profile like Assistant Manager, Computer Architect, and such according to his/her desire and skill set. The starting package a person might obtain is anywhere between ₹1,50,000 - ₹6,00,000 per annum based on various parameters.


Eligibility

For pursuing a Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, a candidate must fulfil a few requirements. A candidate has two options from which one is to apply after class 10, and the other one is after level 12. Requirements might also differ as per the institute's rules and regulations. All the conditions, as per choices, are noted below.


  1. After 10th class
    1. Candidate must have completed 10th class with Science, Maths and English as the primary subjects.
    2. The minimum score for securing admission in most colleges is 55% in aggregate.
    3. Candidate must also have the ITI qualification.
  2. After 12th class
    1. Candidate must have completed 12th class with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as the primary subjects.
    2. Candidate must secure at least 50% in aggregate if applying from general quota while 45% if applying from SC/ST/OBC quota.
    3. Some institutes might even ask students to give the entrance examination and secure a specific score informed by the institute.
