Introduction

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics also known as B.Sc in Nutrition and Dietetics is a 3-year long undergraduate course. Students having an interest in biology and topics covered in Biology and would want to aspire a career in dietician or a related field. There are six semesters in curriculum each consisting of at least three and a maximum of six subjects. Some of the topics covered in this course are human physiology, food chemistry, food microbiology, food science, food processing operations, etc.

The average fee charged by institutes in India for offering this course ranges between ₹5,000 - ₹4,00,000. After pursuing this course, the degree holders get to choose one out of two options which are to either pursue further studies like masters or Ph.D or obtain a job. They can get a job in pharmaceutical companies, clinic, food production companies, etc. at the post of consultant, food show host, nutrition trainer or a relevant job profile.


Eligibility

Candidates willing to aspire a career related to Nutrition and Dietetics from a college have to verify their eligibility. The institutes ask the students to fulfil specific requirements for testing the ability of the students. Most institutes follow the standard rule of verifying eligibility while some may change it.   • Candidates must have completed 10+2 level of education in the stream of science from a recognised board.

  • Candidates must have scored at least 50% in aggregate in class 12.
