To understand better on Coronavirus and related things, refer the following articles.
Quarantine is a boring tie as you are restricted to stay home with no new daily soap opera. So to keep the public entertained, the Indian Government are re-telecasting one of the greatest shows of the 1990s Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Ramayana
Ramayana is based on the Valmiki's Ramayana and Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas. 78 episodes were shot in this series each comprising of 30-45 minutes. The whole family would sit back to watch this serial as, during that period, India didn't have any other shows to watch. The serial depicts the story of a traditional war that took place between Lord Ram and Ravan for getting Sita rid of Ravan's clutches. Lord Rama was forced to leave his luxuries, pleasure and family for an exile of 14 years. However, as Lord Ram was Sita husband and Laxman's beloved younger brother they left along with him. While they were in exile, they managed to build up a small hut and they lived there for years before Sita was kidnapped by Ravan to marry with her. The story shows the effect of Lord Ram, Laxman, Hanuman and his friends to save Sita from Ravan. Ramayana was broadcasted between 25th January 1988 and 31st July 1988. The serial was produced by Sagar Films. The total cost of filming a single episode of Ramayana was approximately ₹9 lakhs which was a pretty huge amount. However, the investment took a great route as each episode of Ramayana earned ₹35 - 40 lakhs.
Mahabharata
Mahabharata is a religious war fought between the Pandavas and the Kauravas. The serial consisted of 94 episodes each episode consisting of 50-60 minutes. The Pandavas and the Kauravas were some of the toughest group to fight against as Kauravas had the force of 100 brothers while Pandavas had advanced tactical skills. Yudhisthir one of the Pandavas was made the king of Indraprastha and so organised Rajsuya Yagna where Draupadi insulted Duryodhana. So to take revenge on the insult, Duryodhana played a bad game with his Maternal Uncle Shakuni. Eventually, they were forced to go on an exile of 13 years. This led to the Mahabharata War. After various thoughts and incidents, the war began where the Pandavas defeated Kauravas and won the thrown of Indraprastha. The special part of this serial was that it started with an introduction of title song including two verses from the Bhagavad Gita. Mahabharata was broadcasted between 2nd October and 24th June 1990. Mahabharta was produced by B. R. Chopra and the total cost of producing this serial was ₹9 crores with each episodes spending around ₹9 - 10 lakhs per episode.

Today, the entire world is facing the hazardous effects of COVID-19. The positivity in the air is getting reimbursed with the negativity. People are forced to stay back at home which makes them do nothing and as it is said that 'An empty mind is devil's den'. So to abolish such negative thoughts on public demand some of the best shows are re-telecasted in India every day. This is a great initiative taken by DD National channel.
