Introduction
Chemistry is one of the branches of science which focuses mainly on chemical compounds and elements. Chemistry in itself is a wide subject as includes various subsection like Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and so on. Applied Chemistry is one of its branches which concentrate on combining chemistry and engineering. People having an interest in this combination are most likely to pursue a career in it. However, they have to achieve an appropriate degree for it and Master of Science in Applied Chemistry also known as M.Sc in Applied Chemistry. It is a 2-year long postgraduation course in the field of Applied Chemistry. The course looks over various aspects of chemistry which include nano-materials, corrosion science, analytical chemistry, liquid chromatography, and spectrometry. The program is divided into 4 semesters each consisting of topics like Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Applied Physical Chemistry, Advanced Organic Chemistry and so on.
The average annual fee charged by private and government institutes in India for offering this course ranges between ₹10,000 - ₹2,30,000. The graduates of this course get a chance to choose from two options which are pursuing further studies or obtain a job. They can be employed in various fields like educational institutes, medicine supply and distribution centres, private clinics, laboratories and so on. Posts available for such graduates in such areas are Lab Supervisor, Researcher, Professor, Chemist, Clinical Research Associate, Biomedical Chemist and relevant posts. They can expect an annual average salary ranging between ₹2,00,000 - ₹6,00,000 depending upon job profile and skills they possess.
