US INVASION OF AFGHANISTAN

SEPTEMBER 11,  2001:  • Al-Qaeda operatives hijacked four commercial airliners, crashing them into the World Trade Center. None of the nineteen hijackers were Afghan nationals.

• Weeks after the attack United States announced that U.S. forces had launched attacks against the terrorist group and Taliban targets in Afghanistan. OCTOBER 7,  2001:  • Supported by the British, US military began its bombing campaign against Taliban forces. This bombing campaign resulted in the devastating loss of thousands of Afghan Civilians lives.

MAY 1,  2011:  • AI-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, responsible for the 9/11 attacks, is killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan. One of America's close political allies at the time.

SPIKE IN INTERNALLY DISPLACE 6/10 PEOPLE IN AFGHANISTAN

• Nearly 400,000 were forced from their homes since the beginning of the year, joining 2.9 million Afghans already internally displaced across the country at the end of 2020.

• 80 percent of internally displaced are women and children.

• In June alone, 109,000 people were internally displaced within the country.

• Thousands of people are rushing from rural areas to the capital Kabul and other urban centers in search of shelter.

• Around 15,000 internally displaced persons have arrived in Kabul from other provinces. Most of them are sleeping in the open, in parks and public spaces.

WHO IS TO BLAME FOR CURRENT SITUATION OF AFGHANISTAN?

British Invasion- crippling the strong standing foundation of Afghanistan but did not succeed

From 1979 up until 1989 Afghanistan was invaded by the Soviet forces creating mass distraction mercilessly. Left their landmines for our Afghan children to fall pray to.

1980- the mujahiddin were supplied with money, and arms by US, Pakistan, Iran and China to combat the Soviets. This let ever-present ISI with its nebulous tentacles spread everywhere. Sectors of the Pakistani government who, for various selfish reasons of their own, wish to see the collapse of any stability in our land.

By 1985 - Half of Afghan population now estimated to be displaced by war, with many fleeing to neighbouring countries.

THE TALIBAN NOW CONTROLS TWO-THIRD OF AFGHANISTAN

• Over the past seven days, the Taliban has taken control of at least 11 of Afghanistan's 34 provincial capitals.

• Additional three major cities: Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand Province. Herat, a cultural hub in the west. As well as Kandahar, the country's second-largest city, have completely fallen under the dystopian regime of Taliban.

• The rapid fall of Afghan cities comes just weeks before U.S. forces were set to complete a total withdrawal from Afghanistan.

• U.S. military analysis warns that the country's capital, Kabul could fall to Taliban in 90 days.

 THE US WITHDREWAL FROM AFGHANI: 3/10 AFTER 20 YEARS OAF INEFFICACIOUS ON FEBRUARY 29,  2020:  • US and Taliban sign peace agreement. This agreement only ensured Taliban's cease-fire with the US, while relations between the Taliban and Afghans remained limited to killings, terror and destruction.

APRIL 14,  2021:

• Biden Decides on Complete U.S. Withdrawal by 9/11. The remaining 3,500 troops in Afghanistan will be withdrawn regardless of whether progress is made in intra-Afghan peace talks or the Taliban reduces its attacks on Afghan security forces and citizens.

CONCLUSION:

For the past 20 years, the US has spent around $1,000 billion, lost thousands of its soldiers, killed countless Afghan civilians, and displaced nearly 4 million Afghans.…
