Ayush ministry launches Y- Break app

The Union AYUSH Minister on September 1, 2021, has launched the Y-Break App for working professionals to commemorate Azadi’s Amrit Mahotsav. The Ministry of AYUSH has launched the Y-Break App as a 5-minute yoga protocol to be followed f office professionals.. The launch of the Y-Break App has been coined as one of the most important activities that the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy) has decided to do.


Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi, and Minister of State for Ayush and Woman and Child Development Munjpara Mahendrabhai Kalubhau attended the launch of Y-Break App.

On August 29, 2021, the Union AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had announced a series of week-long activities and campaignsthat the Ministry of AYUSH will commence from August 30 to September 5, 2021 The AYUSH week had begun with a national webinar on ‘Surviving the storm through Ayush Shelter’ for AYUSH students.

What is the app about?

Y-Break App is a 5-minute yoga protocol for office personnel, to help them stay de-stress, refresh and re-focus at their workplace to increase their productivity and attention span.

The Y-Break App has been launched by the Ministry of AYUSH on September 1, 2021, as a part of series of week-long activities and campaigns to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Benefits of the app

The Y-Break App, also known as the Yoga-Break Protocol for the office goers includes Asanas, Pranayam, and Dhyan.

The Y-Break App aims at benefiting all office goers including government and private sector employees. The App is built to help people de-stress, refresh, and re-focus with increased immunity at their workplaces.

Who has developed the app?

The MDNIY (Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga) has developed the Y-Break App for mobiles. Through the app, one can access yoga and meditation activities anywhere in 5 minutes.
